4 Gables

Tucked into a small, wooded lot along Lake Norman, this addition reorients a modest family home toward the water, placing the lake at the heart of daily life. The project was conceived to strengthen the family’s connection to the landscape—framing expansive views of the lake and allowing light, movement, and seasonal change to shape the interior experience. A new kitchen and living area create an open, shared space where young children remain visually connected to the outdoors, while a lower-level bedroom and game area provide room for rest and play. Designed as the first phase of a full home renovation, the addition establishes a quiet architectural foundation for the home’s future transformation.
