Who We Are
Objectechne Studio, pronounced ob·ject·tech·ne, is a principal-led architecture practice based in the Charlotte region, working throughout North and South Carolina.
We believe architecture operates within systems — economic, civic, regulatory, and cultural. Buildings do not exist in isolation; they shape and are shaped by their surroundings. Our work seeks clarity within those systems, balancing confident design thinking with disciplined execution.
The studio was founded on the belief that architecture should reduce uncertainty, not introduce it — that design can be both expressive and accountable.
We approach each project with the understanding that scale does not determine significance. A mixed-use development, a civic facility, or a residential intervention each require attentiveness to context, performance, and long-term value.
What We Do
We design projects that shape growth and reinforce place.
Our work includes:
Infill and residential development
Mixed-use and phased commercial buildings
Community and civic facilities
Commercial and adaptive reuse
From early feasibility through construction documentation, we align design intent with zoning frameworks, occupancy requirements, and construction realities.
We are particularly attentive to the way regulatory systems influence form — setbacks, height limits, parking ratios, density allowances — treating them not only as constraints, but as parameters within which meaningful architecture can emerge.
Each project is led directly by the principal, ensuring continuity, accountability, and clarity throughout the process.
Where We Come From
The studio’s leadership background includes delivery of institutional and healthcare facilities ranging from $60M public school campuses exceeding 200,000 square feet to $100M+ hospital and research facilities.
These projects required complex site planning, multi-discipline consultant coordination, structural system integration, and rigorous life-safety compliance. Many were delivered within active or occupied environments, demanding phased implementation, schedule sensitivity, and technical precision.
Experience includes:
Public K–12 campuses and higher education facilities
Science and laboratory classroom buildings
Ground-up healthcare facilities and surgery suite renovations
Pharmaceutical and research environments
Multi-phase construction within occupied buildings
These environments demanded clarity, coordination, and disciplined documentation. That institutional rigor informs our present work — bringing large-scale delivery standards to development, commercial, and community projects of every size.
We bring the discipline of complex project delivery to projects that shape growth at every scale.
Where We Work
Objectechne Studio is rooted in the Charlotte region and operates throughout North and South Carolina.
We engage directly with municipal processes, Unified Development Ordinances, and evolving regional growth patterns. Our work responds to the specific conditions of place — urban corridors, suburban infill, industrial edges, established neighborhoods, and emerging communities.
Architecture, for us, is not imposed. It is situated.
Architecture shaped by place, delivered with intention.
